What made you decide to participate in the "Childhood Heroes" exhibition? What do you like about the concept?
I have decided to participate in Childhood Heroes because I was invited by my good friend Sara Rosenbaum. And it is a pleasure for me to be a part of the project like this, together with so many great tattoo artists. But main reason, of course, is to support a good thing and try to help terminally ill children a bit if possible....
What do you feel makes your style unique?
Maybe a little bit different way I am using and working with colors. Also some of the methods I have learned and used while doing black and grey and realistic tattoos years ago and applying them now in colorful newschool style I am mostly doing now.
What's been your favorite (or one of your favorites) tattoo that you've done?
One of the most interesting tattoos I have done this year is a full arm sleeve version of the famous Cable Street Battle mural piece in London. You will see it somewhere for sure when it is finished. It looks really different.
What do you like to tattoo?
Big, colorful, large scale full size arm sleeves. I worked a lot on my own system of preparation for projects like this and it turns out really well. I plan to do exhibition of full arm sleeves line drawings on foil when I will have more of them. At the moment, I have around 8 projects like this in progress and I am looking forward to finish them.
How would you describe the current status of tattoo in your country?
We have few really good tattoo artists and tattoo shops in Czech Republic and Slovakia, but to be honest, you could count them on the fingers of one hand. The rest is really boring, provincial, isolated, stereotype and sometimes really, really bad.
What conventions can we expect to see you at this year?
I have decided to travel a bit less this year for conventions, because I am busy as hell in our shop in Prague and I have travelled a lot in recent years...But I will be tattooing at Tattoo Jam in Derby, UK in August and at Berlin Tattoo Convention at the end of the year for sure.
