What made you decide to participate in the "Childhood Heroes" exhibition? What do you like about the concept?
I've been invited by our friend Sara Rosenbaum. I'm glad to have my works in Strychnin Gallery, next to art of great artists. Anyway, I organize a beneficial concert for a nursery every year, connected with tattoos. So this exhibition is just another way to help people in need.
When did you first become interested in the art of tattoo?
I was always amazed when I saw any tattoo art. I have done my first "tattoo" when I was 12 years old, and tattoos belong to me since that day.
Why did you start tattooing?
I believe in kind of a "tattoo philosophy" - marking your own body with scenes, experience, ideas from your life makes sense to me. Tattooing gives me a chance to put these personal, important things under my customers' skin forever...that's the reason.
How would you describe your style?
I'm not sure how to describe it...I prefer to combine different styles of tattooing together and find some interesting connections of shapes, colors and the tattooed part of the body. I have been working as a designer in advertising for nine years, always trying to choose the best solution for my customers and I also try to do my best in tattooing. That means that every tattoo I do is different, customized. My favorite tattoos are mostly about oldschool, comics, realistic, aquarelle and graphic stuff.
What was your best tattoo experience?
Well, I'm not sure if this was the best one, I have lots of nice experience with tattoos. This story is about a man who received a gift from his secret love. There was a great love between them, but life never put them together...so he asked me to tattoo a picture of this "gift" on his body in order to remember this loving person forever. I like the story, I like the tattoo and this is one of the reasons why to get tattooed.
How long do you plan on continuing to tattoo?
In last few months, I see that the body wasn't made for 24/7 work. That means I can't tattoo so much as I would like to, and that could be the answer. Tattoo isn't work, it's the lifestyle and I wish to enjoy this till the end of my life.
